Who I am:
Welcome! My name is Denise Jorgensen. As a licensed therapist, I bring a unique perspective to my work, having personally navigated a history of eating disorders including anorexia, bulimia, binge eating, orthorexia, and countless diets. This firsthand experience allows me to empathize with my clients and understand the complex emotional and psychological factors that contribute to disordered eating.
A mom of four, I'm deeply committed to raising my children in a way that fosters a healthy and positive relationship with food and their bodies. I believe in the power of self-acceptance, curiosity, and compassion as tools for healing and growth.
Through my therapeutic approach, I help individuals explore the underlying causes of their disordered eating and develop sustainable strategies for recovery. Together, we'll learn to challenge harmful societal messages, cultivate body positivity, and embrace intuitive eating as a way to regain trust in your body and break free from the cycle of restrictive diets that only fail. By listening to your body's hunger cues, nourishing yourself with pleasure, and honoring your natural instincts, you can find lasting freedom from the grip of diet culture.
